An Old-Fashioned Christmas at the Historic North Star House

The North Star House was filled with holiday cheer this season as we welcomed the community in for our annual Christmas celebration.

Visitors wandered through the House, taking in the holiday decorations, getting a feel for the warmth and history that make this place so special. We loved seeing so many new faces walk through the doors, along with familiar ones who return year after year.

Guests warmed up with mulled wine and hot cocoa. Carols echoed softly from room to room, and Nancy McRay filled the House with beautiful piano music while Santa sat with guests, taking pictures and passing out candy canes. Everyone was singing well-known Christmas tunes that added to the feeling that, for a moment, time had slowed down.

Behind the scenes, volunteers helped keep everything moving smoothly, welcoming guests and making sure everyone felt comfortable and at home.

It was a simple, joyful afternoon that captured exactly what this season — and this place — is all about. We’re so grateful to everyone who came by, and to all the volunteers who helped make it happen. We look forward to all of the exciting things happening in the year ahead and hope you all have a happy holiday!
