The North Star House is calling on the community to help us plant the next phase of our native hedgerow, an inspiring project designed by Molly Breen to bring new life, color, and biodiversity to our historic grounds.
Thanks to a generous grant of 100 native plants from the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, we’re expanding this living landscape to provide essential habitat for pollinators and wildlife while creating a beautiful, sustainable border that complements the historic architecture of the House.
This Friday, October 24 at 9AM, we invite volunteers of all ages and experience levels to join us for a Pop-Up Planting Event. Whether you have a green thumb or just love being part of community projects, your help will make a real difference.
The morning will include guided planting tips, good company, and the satisfaction of contributing to a project that will grow for generations to come.
What to Bring
• A shovel
• Gardening gloves
• A water bottle
• Your enthusiasm!
Why It Matters
This project is part of our ongoing effort to blend historic preservation with environmental stewardship. By restoring and reactivating the North Star House grounds with native plants, we’re not just honoring the past — we’re building a healthier future for our ecosystem and community.
