Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming members of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) back to the North Star House for a visit rooted in both history and growth. Fifteen years ago, the group planted a tulip tree on our grounds: a symbol of remembrance, strength, and hope. This week, they returned to see how that tree has grown.

Joining them was North Star House Board Member Ken Underwood, who helped welcome the group and share in this meaningful moment. His presence was a reminder of the ongoing care and community stewardship that ties the past to the present at North Star House.

It was a quiet visit, but a powerful one. The tulip tree now stands tall, nurtured over the years just like the legacy of those who planted it. We’re grateful to the DAR for their continued connection and to all who contribute to the living history of North Star House.

To the DAR members who joined us: thank you for your thoughtful visit, your enduring support, and the roots you helped plant.
