One Spark Could Take It All: Help Us Protect the North Star House

The Urgent Call to Action
We’re launching a campaign to protect and preserve the historic North Star House, starting with the installation of a critical fire suppression system and essential wildfire safety upgrades.
Designed in 1905 by pioneering architect Julia Morgan, this remarkable home was nearly lost to time. But thanks to decades of community effort and tens of thousands of volunteer hours, the North Star House has been lovingly revived and now serves as a gathering space for weddings, cultural events, tours, and more.
But without fire protection, everything we’ve restored is at risk. One wildfire spark could erase over 100 years of history, and decades of community
We must raise $150,000 to install a fire suppression system to proactively safeguard the North Star House, so we have broken the project into three phases to make every dollar count:
Phase 1: Piping the First Floor – $50,000
Lays the foundation. This phase installs all piping for the first floor and allows continued restoration work upstairs.
Phase 2: Piping the Rest of the House – $50,000
Builds full coverage. All remaining piping throughout both floors will be installed, ensuring the house is fully prepped for protection.
Phase 3: Activation and Final Installation – $50,000
Brings it to life. Final sprinkler heads and water source connections will be installed—ready to protect. May also accommodate a future 4" city water main if installed.
Your donation directly funds:
Fire protection that meets code
Long-term preservation of the house
Continued restoration of the upstairs
Community access to a safe, functional space
Protecting Julia Morgan’s legacy
We’ve come too far to lose it now.
One spark could take it all, but one act of generosity can help save it. Stand with us. Give what you can. And help ensure North Star House stands strong for the next hundred years.
Please donate today. Help us preserve the past and protect the future.
