The Second Chapter

Restoring the second floor and writing the next chapter of North Star House.

For years, much of North Star House's second floor has remained unfinished and largely out of public view, but that is slowly beginning to change. The restoration of North Star House has never happened all at once. It has happened room by room, project by project, and because people in this community continued to believe this historic place was worth saving.

When you look at where the House started and where it stands today, the progress is remarkable. Spaces that were once damaged, deteriorating, or unusable have been stabilized, restored, and brought back to life. The second floor is the next major chapter in that work.

A Different Kind of Restoration

The second floor represents a new chapter for North Star House. While the first floor has been restored with an almost museum-level commitment to historical accuracy, the vision for the second floor is different. We want to preserve its historic character while thoughtfully creating spaces that can support how North Star House is used today and into the future.

We envision the second floor becoming a place where people can gather, create, learn, exhibit work, attend programs, and engage with North Star House in ways that have not previously been possible.
